Adventure

"Life's a cruel adventure of sorts."

And on that note, you should all check out my friend’s website at http://paul-huter.artistwebsites.com. His photography is not only breathtaking, but it’s inspirational. I look at it and want to live life with as much adventure as possible, to discover some of those places that he captures so perfectly. He takes photos of city-scapes, mountains, nature…really the most beautiful places on earth. And he does it in a way that takes you away from the screen and makes you really feel at one with the world…sorry to get all sappy on you, readers, but check out his photography, and you’ll see what I mean.

Taking his passion for capturing the natural beauty of the world, Paul has worked to enhance the lives of those who view his art. From the mountains of Colorado, to the fields and forests of Illinois, Paul's art reminds us that in a world where everything is fast-paced and hectic, there is still time to take a moment to enjoy the small pleasures of life that nature graciously offers us.

Recently, Paul has begun to photograph artistic, black and white, city-scapes. By capturing the cities where most of us live, he hopes to show a forgotten side of the "concrete jungles", a side of simplicity and beauty.
Paul is originally from Denver, Colorado, and now lives in Harvest, Alabama.

Oscar Night

Can you guess which film won in every category it was nominated for? Lord of the Rings...Go Frodo! Not I'd like to see The Hobbit do THAT!

And now a word from my friends "The Night Alive":
Fans of Oscar-nominated movie Birdman might already be aware that The Geffen Playhouse is the premiere theatre of Los Angeles as it gets a mention or two in the movie. Currently electrifying the stage there is devilishly handsome Irish actor Peter O'Meara in artistic director Randall Arneys west coast premiere production of The Night Alive by award-winning Irish writer Conor McPherson. Audiences might well recall O'Meara from Steven Spielberg/Tom Hanks HBO war series Band of Brothers. In The Night Alive he is nuanced cunning and outright terrifying. The play takes us to a small room in Dublin where a man called Tommy plays good Samaritan to a lost and damaged girl call Aimee. O'Meara shows up as the dangerous and malevolent boyfriend Kenneth...don't wanna give too much away here..but let's say he has a whole lot of charm mixed with some forceful impact. If you're in LA do yourself a cultural favour and get yourself to the Geffen. The Night Alive runs there until March 15th 2015.

You Shine Now

"Always listen to your heart, because even though it's on your left side, it's always right."
I find quotes like these so inspiring.

So if you want to see more like this and just feel good, definitely check out my friends at You Shine Now It's a project for encouraging others to share how they shine light into the world or how they spread joy.
And there's a lot of exciting stuff going on there including a call for photos with your hand over your heart.
Honestly, just visiting the site will make you smile.

College Wiz

So some college students (I think in Princeton U, but don't quote me) discovered that Cap'n Crunch is not actually a captain. He's a commander, as he only has 3 stripes on his sleeve...and that's college for you!

And as a college student myself, I can say that College OWLZ is my go to website. It's a great way to stay ahead both financially and academically. Plus the website's so friendly. I mean, just look at that owl!

It’s easy to use, too. You just connect to someone else at your college and presto! I really think this is the next BIG thing (and you saw it here first!) Aren’t we lucky?

Check out their video

So seriously, you college age readers, check it out. And for my readers who are a bit older, tell a college kid you know about it, because it is that good.

Rock 'n' Roll

Did you know that in 1973, four men rushed Elvis' stage and he fought them off with karate? That explains a particularly odd scene of Walk Hard featuring Jack White and makes it about ten times funnier.

Now, if you want to hear your rock music nice, clear, and crisp, you should check out my friends at www.hookeaudio.com

Odd

Just added to the notebook today and suggested by my friend, C. D. Martin (Author of Juggling One Ball at a Time) is this great quote from the great Dr. Seuss, "You have to be odd to be number one."

I'm not sure where I read this, but it always cracks me up.

Kid at Heart

Under the age of 33? Well congratulations, you're still a child...if you're a Hobbit.  According to Tolkien, hobbits aren't adults until they're 33.
