So you all know how much I love my new inventions, tech, and gadgets. Well today I found something awesome...no, not just awesome...super awesome!

I found these car mounts for my iPhone that are amazing, because instead of my phone constantly falling, I can just put it right on the mount, and it's good to go!

Gravity X has launched a new innovative game-changing smartphone car mount that assures smartest grip based on laws of gravity.

Tech startup Gravity X has completed a successful Kickstarter campaign on its futuristic game-changer smartphone car mount which assures the smartest, a much safer and most innovative way to hold mobile phone or a tablet in a car. Based on pure physics, this patent-pending unit counts on the gravitational force to secure the phone in a car just within a flash. It’s sure to make Newton proud.

The unique mount comes with an unrestricted opening fitted with silicone pads topped by little suction cups. As the user inserts and releases his smartphone into the opening, it would rotate using phone’s weight that transfers the energy to silicone pads, enabling the suction cups a firm grip on the phone screen. 3M tape used by the side of the mount fixes it safely on a flat surface over a car’s dashboard and the unit assures a handy one-hand operation while the other hand stays firmly on the steering. The mount also positions the mobile in such position that you can even operate it as some hands-free speaker device. It would make a safer option for the younger drivers who are always on phone even while driving and also legal for States strict about hands-free operation.

A Booked Weekend

It all started Saturday Morning with an Indie author panel at the Museum for Early Trades followed by partaking in the Madison Storyteller’s Festival in the afternoon. That night was the June Bug Festival in Metuchen, NJ. The very busy weekend was concluded on Sunday with a reading and workshop at Barnes & Noble.

Asbury Park Inn Interview

Kate and her husband now own the Inn, but she was in private equity in NYC for close to ten years.

 

Kate wanted to do something more rewarding. She had gone to culinary school in NYC before focusing on client services and knew she wanted to do something like this that could combine these talents and interests.

Kate said, “Owning the Inn is great, because I can work in my own home on my own terms doing what I love.” She also recognizes the value of giving back through the community and environment.

She makes breakfast for her guests every day with local ingredients and food. She gets eggs, produce, and meats from a local farm in Howell and other ingredients from local small shops. This is just one way that the Inn stays green and local. By using locally grown products, the local businesses thrive and less harm is done to the environment.

She also meets many people. Most who stay there are from New Jersey. On this, Kate said, “The most rewarding part is meeting and spending time with guests; there are great people in New Jersey.”

The Inn is two blocks from the beach. Kate spoke about the changes she has seen in the community, “There is a huge revitalization in Asbury Park…It was grass roots getting it started. A small group of dedicated people invested in the city to help new businesses open up and making it a shore destination.”

One of the greatest lessons Kate has learned from being a small business owner is that giving back and being part of the community is important. She said, “You only get what you give. Putting your time in is important and really hard work. It has been eye opening how much work is actually involved in owning a seasonal business.”  

She added that she has great respect for people with seasonal business and that there is great morale with all small businesses and mentioned how the comradery that exists between small business owners is incredible. That is what keeps small businesses and communities thriving.

Revenge is Not Justice

I just completed watching the HBO show 'Oz' (I know I am over a decade late, but I was in pre-school when the show started airing, so I think that's a valid excuse.) The show, although brutal beyond any other show I have ever seen, was amazing at illustrating the issues and injustices plaguing society, as well as human nature. My main takeaway is a direct line from the series finale, "Revenge is not justice." 

Revenge does not just come in the form of violence. It can sadly also be a weapon in relationships.
